Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Change. Change is good. David Bowie liked changes. Change is also a painful bitch... but not as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong. In the last year a lot has changed, and i'm embracing it. I'm moving forwards, becoming stronger and wiser, accumulating more knowledge and experience... as well as the 'occasional' dramatic episode. No one ever said my life was like Hollyoaks, i swear. Resisting change keeps you tied to the past, and I've already read that story once, i'd like to keep writing new ones.

In the last 6 months alone I've experienced more emotional highs and lows than i can record from the last 6 years. I quit my job, left my friends and family and moved across an ocean to start something new, something challenging and exciting. I've made new friends, gained new skills, experienced new sights and have acquired quite an impressive collection of hardware for all my household needs. Not gonna lie, i have a few new bumps and bruises, both emotionally and physically, to go along with that. Nothing friends, comfort foods and punching a few pillows can't sort out. Dance out that negativity!

People change. Sometimes they don't fit into your story anymore, and as hard as it is, you just need to put on your big girl pants, get shit done and write an even better story without them. After a little cry and a face full of chocolate covered almonds of course. Maybe they were a typo, something you wrote after a 24 hour bender and have no idea what you were thinking, or maybe they taught you something. Like, well, don't do that again. Twat. Others remain a constant through all of these changes. I've learnt that not even an ocean, vicious Raccoon or crazed bus lunatics can keep irrational good friends apart, and for that i am so grateful. If anything i feel closer to them. I mean, where would i be without our ongoing drama battles.

Regardless of the surroundings and people that change around me, i have felt a change within myself, and i think that's a good thing.

Get excited and change things.
